godricgal: (My Puppy)
My fingers doing the typing here may actually be the only part of my body that I can move freely this evening. I've had a great day though!

It started fairly early (at least for me on a Saturday) when I jumped on a tube to meet [personal profile] sea_thoughts at Waterloo. From there we walked to the London Aquarium which was very interesting. I'm a big fan of aquariums and this was the first time I have been to the London one. It doesn't compare to the likes of Sydney or the newish one in Bournemouth because it lacked in big feature tanks but at the same time, information was presented fairly well and the tanks were nicely put together.

From there we walked to the Tower of London along the Thames Path. I just love this walk! The Thames Path was a MillenniumProject and one I very much approve of. I highly recommend it if you like a walk.

The Tower was great, the only time that I have been in it previously was to see an outdoor performance of Richard III and as amazing as that was, it was great to see the rest of it.

I love old things! What I loved about some of the things that were on display at the Tower was: this is  an x, it is y years old and it belonged to z. Some of these things were 700 odd years old and we still know to whom they belonged; I think that's fascinating in itself!

We walked back along the Thames Path and then up from Charring Cross and walked through to Leicester Square. I parted ways with[personal profile] sea_thoughts in the area, walked back to my bus and collapsed until I had to get off to do some shopping and  walk home.

An excellent day and I thoroughly enjoyed myself!
