Jul. 1st, 2006 11:45 pmThe concert was amazing, absolutely incredible. He played a three hour set divided in two. The first half consisted of random songs, the second half was The Dark Side of the Moon. The atmosphere was wonderful. I sat as near to the stage as I could on the slight incline that leads down to the lake. People were everywhere, with picnics, barbeques, wine and beer. I was on my own with a copy of PoA and my notebook.
Or I was on my own until some guy from Peru came up to me and asked if I was a writer. To which I replied that it was something I did in my spare time. To which he replied 'so you're a writer' and I replied, 'well, it's something I do in my spare time.' We went around that loop about ten times. He then talked at me for 10 minutes until 'Great Gig in the Sky' started and I told him that this was the song I really wanted to listen to and would he mind awfully just leaving me to it. So he did. Only to come back in 15 minutes and talk at me again until I had to leave just to get away from him. He kept shimmying closer to me and I kept moving away and he just didn't get it. It dampened my mood somewhat but all in all it was a great evening.
I just love those tingles you get when a song you adore starts up. I haven't felt like that since I saw The Cranberries perform 'Zombie'.
Then I met up with the Ex and his mate and we went for a quick beer. They have now gone clubbing and left me to my own devices (to listen to The Dark Side of the Moon again).
