Shitty old day today, by the time 8pm came along I was so fed up with work phone calls that I changed my Skype status to Do Not Disturb and turned my mobile off. Hiring people is not fun. Dealing with smarmy, jumped up recruitment agents is not fun. I'm in a grump and that's not fun either. 

On a brighter note, I ordered Mum a laptop today so that we can keep in touch by email and Skype and when I see a dress I really like I can show her what it looks like on a web site! I'm very excited about this, I shall have to go down there in 7-10 days and show her how to switch it on ;) She's never really used a computer before and certainly never browsed the internet so it should be interesting! I'm going to set everyone in my family up with an LJ, including an RL one for me, so that we can all share stuff that we find and tell each other about what we're up to. She's quite excited about that. 

On a truly bright note, the sun actually shined for over an hour today. Since most of the South of the country got slapped with a drought order a couple of weeks ago, all it's done is rain! Still we're forcast to be back on track tomorrow and it will raineth once more.

1. I can directly link every major change in my life to a spur of the moment decision I made very early one morning on a Tuesday in the second week of January 1999. Nothing that I’ve had or have now could have been possible if I hadn’t made that choice, even down to the exact flat that I live in now.
2. I am superstitious about necklaces to the point of paranoia. I hate taking them off, the longer I leave them on the stronger I feel the protection is that they give me. (bonkers I know) When I flew back from Australia (I’m terrified of flying) I cried for an hour because my necklace had only been on for a month and I didn’t think the ‘protection’ was strong enough to get me back home in one piece!!! My current necklace has been on for two years, 8 months and 6 days, so I’m well protected at the moment!
3. If I were good enough, I’d love to be a professional musician. There are few things that I’ve found more exhilarating than performing with an orchestra, band or choir.
4. I have had a recurring dream that has been happening since my age consisted of a single digit. The first specific time I can remember it happening was sometime in the first two weeks of September 1989. I will remember that dream until the day I die, it is no less clear in my mind now than it was then. The dreams always involve me being dizzy and unable to move properly, usually as I’m about to get run over by something. I’ve only ever been ‘got’ once and that was in 1989 and involved a train. The last time I had it was two nights ago.
5. I have known my closest female friend since I was 3 and she was 2, we went to playschool, primary school and secondary school together. It’s a strange kind of friendship, we’re not conventionally close but there is a very deep level of trust between us that is hard to explain.
6. In the autumn I intend to start learning Mandarin.
