Sep. 18th, 2006 10:56 pmI had another most excellent day yesterday. Dad and I started fairly early. We had breakie at my favourite local cafe and then headed toward the
I had a few hours to myself in the afternoon, during which I caught up on emails and read a bit of my book, which is getting more and more difficult to put down. I met Jo and Em about 7, we went to a new complex on the banks of the Grand Union, it has a couple of restaurants and bars and pubs, really lovely. We sat outside and had a good old natter. Jo had actually made my birthday card, and until she told me, I'd not idea, it was so good and so pretty! She's a multi-talented lass.
So an excellent birthday, I wasn't looking forward to it at all, but it couldn't have been better.
Mum arrived early this afternoon, we went shopping over Notting Hill way, but everything was either way too expensive or utterly uninspiring, so this evening we went down to Oxford Street and found some beautiful things and spend a whole bunch of money. We had dinner in St. Christopher's Place, which was where we always used to eat when I was little, it's gone up market, a lot. We ate in a Greek restaurant and it. was. amazing. Even the bread and hummus at the beginning of the meal was a cut above everything else. My starter was to die for, (spinach and feta in filo) and my main, which was a chicken Caesar salad was not only gigantic, but the chicken was cooked in the most perfect chilli concoction, not spicy but with all the flavour. I've never felt greedy eating a salad before, but this thing was so huge!
Mum gave me the cutest pyjamas, I reckon it's about time to pull them on and curl up with my book. Night all!
